CG BritCay Launches 40th Anniversary Celebration

British Caymanian Insurance Company Limited (CG BritCay) is thrilled to announce the launch of its 40th Anniversary celebration. Since its inception in December 1984, CG BritCay has grown and evolved, becoming a trusted partner for the Cayman community.

The anniversary festivities will commence on 1st April 2025 and continue throughout the year, featuring a series of events highlighting the company’s journey, achievements, and contributions to the community.

“Since our founding in 1984, CG BritCay has helped shape the insurance landscape in Cayman, setting standards, leading with innovation, and remaining steadfast in our commitment to excellence. We are honoured to have earned the trust of generations and look forward to continuing to lead and serve in the years ahead.”

Over the past four decades, CG BritCay has marked numerous milestones including the 1984 acquisition of the Cayman Branch Office of National Employer’s Mutual Association of the United Kingdom (NEM); settling claims approaching $9 million for a large fire and Hurricane Gilbert damages in 1988; offering life and health insurance through British Caymanian Insurance Agencies Limited in 1990; and being the first insurer to start settling claims, valued at more than $300 million, following the devastation of Hurricane Ivan in 2004.

More recently, in 2023 CG BritCay was voted Best in Cayman in five categories: health, auto, property and commercial insurance and best insurance company. That year the company also donated a fully functional disaster recovery shelter system to Hazard Management Cayman Islands. In 2024 the company won the CI Marketing Professional’s Association Campaign of the Year award for the launch of the Aunt Angie Campaign.

In addition to these achievements, CG BritCay has remained dedicated to offering comprehensive insurance and pension solutions, supporting charitable initiatives, and participating in community welfare projects. As part of the 40th anniversary celebrations, the company has committed to donating more than KYD $200K to various charitable organizations throughout the Cayman Islands in recognition and appreciation of the community in which CG BritCay operates and serves.
